Each M.I. Hummel figurine is a fine detailed work of art. Although many appreciate the visual aspects of these figurines, most are unaware of the true artistic skills that are used to create these magnificent works of art. There are essentially six steps in creating Hummels: sculpting, molding, casting and assembling, kiln firing, painting, and several in-process inspection checkpoints and a final inspection. It takes several weeks with about 700 hours of production for each M.I. Hummel figurine produced. Each step involves master skills. However, the final result is that a 2D drawing has been transformed into a 3D piece of art for all to cherish. |
